copying photos

Am trying to copy some photos from folder "A" to folder "B".

Hold down the control key
Highlight the photos I want copied

All of a sudden it starts to make "copies of" these photos in the original
folder "A", before I can even copy them to folder "B". More than just one
copy. I suspect it is making a copy of the 1st photo and each additional
photo every time I click on a new photo while holding down the control key.

View is set to Thumbnail.

Any ideas.

Thanks,

Carol

It happens if you jiggle too much when clicking, so it thinks you are
dragging within the folder, before you actually start to do so. Use
TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP!, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its 'Mouse' page has a little pane for Mouse sensitivity - Drag, which I
would put up - say 25 pixels which is getting on for the size of an
icon, and if you really were doing a drag, you would be going further
than that
