Do you want anything else (Outlook-wise) from the old computer?

Vince, I have a similar question.

I am running Outlook 2002 and want to copy all folders, settings, etc. from
my desktop to my new laptop. Microsoft gave permission to install Office
2002 on the laptop.

How do I make the copies .... and which folders/files?

Thanks

Jack E White

Try using WinXP's File & Settings Transfer wizard along with Office 2003's
Save My Settings wizard. Make sure you also move the data in the
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder. I've used that to move from one machine to
the next

Thanks Vince

However, I don't want to transfer (assuming that "transfer" is the same as
"move" ..... only copy.

When I copy the outlook.pst file to my laptop, the ".pst" extention is
truncated. Renaming and adding the extention doesn't work.

I'm bumfuzzled

Are you showing extensions on the laptop or is Windows Explorer simply
'hiding' them? Check here in My Computer: Tools menu > Folder options > View
tab. See if the "Hide extensions for known file types" is checked.
