Hi,
I have created local policies on 1 PC. Now, I would like to copy and
apply these local policies on another computer. I know it has to be
done with SecEdit but I have problem figuring out the whole process (I
tried to do it but it didn't work.
Can someone refer me to a good doc on the web ?
Thanks

This is a known problem as described in the KB article below and there is
supposed to be a free hotfix available if you call. Another alternative is
to use the mmc snapin for security templates to create your own security
template from scratch or to start with or copy portions of existing ones
that may not take all that long and then you can use the mmc snapin for
Security Configuration and Analysis to compare your template to your
baseline computer to make sure it is what you expect. --- Steve

SYMPTOMS
You cannot use the Secedit.exe command-line tool to export the local
security policy settings on a stand-alone workstation that is running
Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP with Service
Pack 2 (SP2).
CAUSE
This problem occurs because Windows XP SP1 and Windows XP SP2 does not store
the local security policy settings in the local security policy database
(Secedit.sdb). Therefore, Secedit.exe does not find the settings in the
database.
