copying formulas

Probably a very simple question but... i use excel for bookkeeping and
therefore have sheets of jan to dec with formulas in certain cells to work
out VAT etc. Im at the end of the year and want to start a fresh and make a
new workbook but keep the formulas but not copy over the figures and
information in the workbook i'm copying from... is this possible?

Right-click on the sheet. Click Move or Copy > To: New Book > Create a Copy.
If that doesn't give you what you want, simply Click the little square in
the upper left hand corner, between A and 1, and hit ctrl + C > go to a new
sheet > right-click > paste special > then choose one of the options that
seems to do what you want (it's a little hard for me to imagine because there
are many possibilities...Formulas and Number Formats...maybe) . Give it a
go, and see what you get!

Thanks... ive already tried this and it copies over all the information as
well... i just wanted the formulas and format to copy over without the
information but there doesnt seem to be an option to do this.

Yes, Copy copies everything. But you can control what gets pasted by using
Paste Special... So, copy all your cells, go to the new sheet, right click
on A1, and choose Paste Special... Then choose what you want pasted.

yes, tried going to paste special and checking against just the formula but
it copies everything still...

Copy the sheet.

Then with that copy active, F5>Special>Constants

Uncheck what you want to keep like Text for titles then OK

Edit>Clear Contents to get rid of the numbers.

Your formulas may show errors but if constructed with proper error-trapping
should be no problem.

I am having the same problem - I know it can be done, because a former
coworker used to do it all the time, however he is gone, so I am trying to
figure out how he did it. Did you ever get it to work??

F5>Special>Constants.

Uncheck "Text" if you have Titles etc. you want to keep.

Hit OK then delete.

Only the titles and formulas remain.
