What is the D drive, and what are the *exact* words used in the error
message?

If D is an optical drive, a CD or DVD, there will be some issues copying to
it.

I don't believe the intrinsic CD write that is part of Windows will allow
you to copy files to a DVD. You need a 3rd party program like Nero or CD
Creator to do that. Windows only writes to CDs.

Thanks for the input... What If I had two dvd burners.... I am using a cd..
The dvd is a really good pioneer... I trust it over my cd any time.. I guess
I could swap the wires out in the back and switch the drives... What if still
wants to go to E??

If you had 2 DVD burners you'd have to obtain a 3rd party program to write
to your DVDs. When you try to use your DVD burner what kind of disk did you
place in it? Perhaps Windows can write to your DVD drive IF you place a CD
in it. DVD burners will write to both DVDs and CDs.
