Copying Error messages

Hi All

Is it possible to copy the error messages that Word pops up? Like doing
CTRL-C on the error message or similar to capture the text of the message?

If it is not possible, why is it so? It would help people providing
accurate information to the support guys on the errors they are
getting.... ;-)

I know that you can make a screen capture, but what you get is a picture
, not some ASCII text...

If the error message is in a text window in the dialog, you should be able
to select it and copy with Ctrl+C. If it's part of the dialog itself, you
*may* be able to select it. IMO, all error messages should be copiable, but
that's a goal and not an actuality.

Also if you hold down Ctrl+Alt+Print Screen it will only copy the active
window, in this case the error message, and not the entire screen.

Print Screen captures the entire window. Alt + Print Screen captures
message boxes, dialog boxes, and drop-down menus. Ctrl + V pastes the
capture in Word or other programs.

It's amazing how much money is invested in these things and still... the
most basic things seem to be missing... ;-)
