Yes, I actually knew the answer to my own question. BUT, do the
responders making replies like those above necessarily check the source
of the message before making the response?Never mind, it's not really
important.

I just don't believe anybody should be preaching about breaking the law
in this regard any more than one would preach about illegal parking,
for example. In fact, one can argue that by parking illegaly, somebody
may be inconvenienced, whereas nobody gets hurt in any way by a person
making a backup disk. It is an act that is illegal even though there is
absolutely no harm done (with the possible argument that somebody would
be deprived of another sale in the event that you were to damage your
disk and wanted to buy another copy).

One shouldn't preach. However, one should always point out that under certain circumstances
there is unethical use. To not do so would itself be unethical or at least malpractice on
the part of the replier.

I wouldn't disagree with this. Unfortunately, though, I perceive some
of the posts as going beyond simply being informative.

I'll agree to that !

The one you thing you have to keep in mind when burning cd/dvd's,
is that if the flow data to the writing device isn't fast enough, cd/dvd is
ruined, because
the hardware got ahead of the system.
It's safer to save an iso of a disk you want to make multiple copies of, to
your hdd
and use that as source used to burn new disks.

Thanks Mike,

I sort of suspected that you would need two separate, and different,
programs to even get close to accomplishing this task. Even though I have no
need to ever do this it is nice to know that you were able to succeed.
