copying - drop-down list fields????

I have a spreadsheet which has drop-down lists in some fields. I tried to
copy and paste parts of the spreadsheet to another worksheet but could not
get the drop-down lists to work on the copied sheets...all i got were drop
down fields with no lists inside.

How can I copy segments of the original and break it up so the copied parts
will work as the original does?

If the drop-down lists are Named, they will work fine on other sheets.

On first sheet, select the drop-down list and Insert>Name>Define. Give it a
name like "mylist"(no quotes).

Data>Validation>Allow>List. In "source" enter =mylist and OK.

Now when you copy to another sheet, you will see the list in the copied DV
cell.
