I am a novice with computers but my e-mail storage seems
to fill up very rapidly. It makes no sense to me that I
can't figure out a way to save an e-mail message to my
hard drive which has a 40 gig capacity. I have tried the
the Ctr-A/Ctr-C approach to copy to a new folder created
on the hard drive for saved e-mails but nothing happens.
I've tried moving a whole folder of saved e-mails and
I've tried moving an individual e-mail that has not even
been saved yet. Tell me there is a simple way to do
this, please. Help!!!!

Do you access through Outlook Express? If so, it's an easy drag-and-drop
operation - from your Hotmail folder to the Local Folders (inbox, for
instance) on your machine. It's how I've saved messages I've needed for
years.

If you have to ask if your copy of XP is 32 or 64 bit, it's 32.

The easiest way is to create your hotmail account in outlook express. Just
open OE, go to tools/accounts/mail and create the account. When you input
your hotmail address, it will automatically set up the servers. Once you
have it set up, you will dl the folders and then you can move any emails you
want to your computer. Hope this helps.
