copy shading formats

Using word 2003
I have a table set up to look like a calendar, each page has only 1 week.
There are 9 rows and each row is color coded with a background shade to let
users know what location to attend.
Question: When I make a copy of this page and paste it on a blank page to
change the dates the shading is not there. Everything is white. I tried
going to edit, paste special to paste the format, but the only thing I get is
the option to paste or paste link in unformatted text, html etc. not like
the other paste special window where you could choose options.
I though it could copy the background shading, please help.

how exactly did you color the table rows? It sounds like you did not at
all, but insert a background picture or added something to the header or
footer area.

Is there a reason you did not color through Format | Borders and Shading?

Another possibility would be that a table style was applied and on pasting
the table took on the default style attributes?
