Copy Record Not Just One Field At A Time

Often I need to copy a record. I remember you could do it an older version of
Access. Now I need to do it field by field.
Is there any way to copy the whole record?
WinXP
Access 2002
This is when I am entering data I have to make a copy of the record I just
inserted and make a minor change in the copied record.

Click on the record selector to... well... select the record.
When it's highlighted, press ctrl-c.
Move to the New Record. Click on its record selector, then press ctrl-v
 
That didn't work. When I hit ctr-c it took me out to my desktop.
I tried in datasheet and form views.

It workled when I went to the table.
Thanks a lot. Will save me a lot of work in the future!
