This post is of course incorrect. There is in fact a
Windows XP Pro Corporate Edition. The copies are sold to
corportations on a Mass basis and I don't mean just ten
copies either. They only differ from the retail Pro
version in that they lack the WPA they do however come
with a Volume License Product Key. So it is possible for a
corporation to sell or give you a copy. There are of
course draw backs to this. when you attempt updates you
may in fact get a "report to Microsoft Piracy" warning.
Don't forget that Product Activation(PA) is reset every
four months so it is possible to install the XP Copy you
now have on another machine after that four month period.
Keep smiling
There is no such thing as "Corporate Edition"
That is a name for Volume License often used by pirates and others who
do not know the difference.
Your information is wrong and implied advice would result in an
illegal installation.
Volume licenses are tightly controlled.
Corporations or other business entities that lose control of their
licenses risk fines or possibly losing the license from Microsoft.
Actually, there is no such thing as WinXP "Corporate Edition."
That is a term applied exclusively to pirated (iow, stolen) copies of
the Volume Licensed WinXP Pro by the "warez" aficionados.
So, unless the computer on which you're going to install the
Volume Licensed version of WinXP Pro is the property of the company
that owns the Volume License, you cannot legally use it. And yes, it
would require a Product Key.

That is a term applied exclusively (unless one is a completely
ignorant novice in the area of software) to pirated (iow, stolen)
copies of the Volume Licensed WinXP Pro by the "warez" aficionados.
And it is most definitely *not* legal for a company to give away
or sell individual copies of its Volume Licensed software. The civil
penalty for doing so includes a fine of up to $150,000.00 per copy.
