Copy Local Group Policy Between Machines?

R

Robert Aungst

Anyone have any idea on how I can copy all of the local group policies that
I set up on one stand alone workstation to another?

I tried copying the "Group Policy" folder, but the policies don't get
applied.

Is there something else I need to do for this to work?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Robert,

I don't know what you will find for this. There may be more options, here is
a simple one that I have found:

Since these 2000 clients are not in an AD 2K domain, configure a local
policy and then sysprep clone them - the new machines will retain the
settings.

Thanks, but I don't think I am going to re-image all of my machines every
time I want to change a policy.

Got any other ideas that aren't so drastic?

Here is another other method. Basically you create and then import your own
customer security template.
