Copy from CD to HD very, very slow...

Have Vista Ultimate and I just noticed copying the contents of a CD to the
hard drive is extremely slow. A standard CD should take a minute or
two..this calculates like 20 minutes at least...

Anyone having this problem? What is the fix?

Thanks

Frank

Could be a combination of factors, background activities that might be
running while you are trying rip the CD, also the speed at which your disk
rips CD's could be a possible reason why.

I also have the same problem. I installed Windows Vista on the weekend
and tried copying my Nikon (.NEF) pictures from a dual layer DVD. It
stated that this operation of copying +-5.6GB would take about 11 days
6 hours??????

I have downloaded from Nikon site all the required patches for Vista
and still no luck. I have an LG dual layer DVD writer and noticed that
the driver was one from Microsoft. LG does not have any drivers on
their web site, so now am stuck.

I noticed that I was able to copy "other" smaller file formats
(.xls, .doc etc) rather quickly, so I gather it could only be the
wrong driver or some complications between Microsoft and or Nikon.
