copy formula result (text) only - without copying formula

I combined text from two cells using =(&""&). So [A-] from one cell and
[John] from another cell became [A-John] in a single cell.
I copied this formula to a column of names with a view to assist in sorting
further down the track.
Can I 'de-formularise' the result..... transform [A-John] into text only so
I can copy it without the formula and use it in other combinations and
sorting?

Many thanks for looking and, if you can, helping

Hi Mulberry,

Have you tried copying your (A-John) cell, then right click on your
destination cell and paste special then tick the "values" box?

So simple, so right - thank you.
