Copy excel chart into word

I have a chart in excel that I would like to copy into a word document. I
currently use 'shift" and copy picture (as printed) and paste it in, but it
always is quite large, and when I reduce the size it becomes blurred. Anyway
to tranfer a "sharp" image of the chart to a word document, or overcome this?
I'd like a tiny chart with sharp letters.

Hi Scott

One thing to try is to ensure that you are reducing the size of the chart in
Word proportionately. In Word, double-click the chart (or, click once and do
Format > Chart). On the Size tab, make sure the horizontal and vertical
proportions are the same. That is, don't reduce the picture more
horizontally than vertically, or vice versa.

But the best way to do this is to create the chart in Excel in the final
size you want it to appear in the Word document. If necessary, use the View
Zoom feature in Excel to zoom in so you can see what you're doing. That
means setting the text sizes for axes, the legend etc in a small (say, 7pt
or 8pt) type size. If you want it really small, then edit the axes and set
the positioning for tick marks appropriately, too, so it doesn't look messy.
Then, copy and paste as you have been doing.

For what it's worth, I always paste Excel charts as a picture (as you are
doing). But you might like to experiment with other formats. In Excel, just
click the chart and do Edit > Copy. Then in Word, do Edit > Paste Special
and try out the different options to see if any other option works better
for you.

Hope this helps.
