Copy and Paste Problem

I just purchased a new Dell 4600 with Windows XP and the
Copy and Paste function is not working...i tried Control
C to copy and Control V to paste that does not work
either nor does Control Insert to copy or Shift Insert to
paste...can someone help?...thanks...Hank
 
Can't you highlight whatever you want to copy with the cursor, then open
Edit on the toolbar, Copy, Go to where you want to go, Edit, Paste. Or the
same thing but choose Edit, Select All, copy, paste.

Maybe the Control key isn't working on your keyboard. Does a different
keyboard behave properly?

Tried it and still not working...probably end up using the
reinstall disk and start over...thanks for the idea...Hank.
 
I'll try a different keyboard when i get home...thanksfor
