coordinating audio and video

I am wondering how I can figure out the timing of my video clips to come
close to the timing of my audio. For example if I have 6:40 of audio and I
have 58 video clips with 1.25 seconds of transition time, then how much time
should I have for each video clip? I am having trouble because of the
transition overlap.

Is there a certain sequence to adding audio, video, transitions and such
that I should be following to make this easier?

HELP.....I am running short on time. I was asked to do this project for a
wedding gift, with a short time frame and I have never used WMM before.

my tip is to edit the video 1st, adding titles/credits etc, cutting out
bits, putting in stills and using transitions BEFORE adding music or
added-on commentary as these don't move if anything is chopped or added and
will get out of sync. Good Luck.
