And you in your infinite wisdom know that there was no reason to do so? I've
found dozens of bugs in this software. Many of them I've also found in the
Giant version. Maybe the problem was Giant found bugs and just said "we'll
sell more copies if we call it 'stable'." Did you ever think of that? Maybe
MS realized the cookie scanner was broken, or perhaps they have a better
design in mind, and rather than leave it completely broken, they chose to
fix it first. Don't pretend you know everything because you clearly don't.
If you have tracking cookies, its because you have allowed them to be
written to your machine. IE already allows you to control cookies if you
find that necessary. Its not like they are a malware application or
anything.
There's a big difference with "allowed" and "auto download". This is after
all a beta and several tings have to be fixed and I expect they will over
the life of the beta cycle. One thing MS knows how to do is fix problems in
beta. That's how we got such a good browser it took years but is very
stable.
You can't blame MS for the attacks by the malicious programmers in the
thousands out there. You just have fix it.
I'm not blaming MS - I control cookies myself rather than leaving the
cookies to IE default settings. That's why i don't see the threat from
cookies - they are just text and I control them.
