cookies problem on win xp sp 2 ie 6 sp 2

i have 5 computers at home , two upgraded to windows xp sp2 . the three
others are windowd 2000 and 95 from my work
the two windows XP sp 2 computers are set up with 7 users.
the older computer with a shutle mother board works for the cookie.
the newer xp sp 2 computer with amd 2.0 and asus motherboard.
this computer will allow a cookie from work web site.
i even reimaged the computer back to only windowd xp sp 2 ,
there was NO anti virus , NO spyware , NO application loaded.
reconfigured IE 6 to recieve ALL cookies.
the cookie still did not load..
even tried to boot in F8 safe mode with network, the COOKIE still did not
load.
i even turned off the windows xp firewall.
the cookie still would not load.

could there be a bios on the ASUS mother board blocking the cookie.
or is there still somthing in windows xp sp 2 or IE 6 sp 2 that could still
be blocking the cookie

If you have Zone Alarm Pro disable it and see if the problem persists.

Also, if you have anything Norton on your system, disable it,and try again.

Check your HOSTS file to be sure it is not blocking it:

How to check HOSTS file

Windows/host (it will not have an extension, and if there is more than one,
choose the one that says Application in a column to the right) . Right click
on it and select Open with.....when the window opens, scroll down the list
to Notepad. Once it opens in Notepad, scroll down the list to see if that
site is in the list. If so, DO NOT delete it, just go to the very front of
the line to the left and enter # in front of the line so that it looks
similar to the one below, as the entries with # in front will be ignored.

# Entries with other comments are searchable via Google.

Then click the save button and close. Then try the site again.

i reimaged the hard disk so there was nothing but windows loaded on it , no
zone alaerm, no norton , no nothing but what came on the windows xp sp2 dvd
,and only hardware drivers
NO APPLICATIONS LOADED.

i turned IE privice to low , it still did not work.
i then turned privice to advanced and then checked ALWAYS ALLOW SESSION
COOKIES , this still did not work.
i even went to F* SAFE MODE , entered the Administrator user account. set
its IE to ALWAYS ALLOW SEESION COOKIES , with nothing loaded but WINDOWS XP .

Try deleting the Cookies folder for that user from Windows Explorer. Then
restart. You may have to be logged in as another user with admin privileges
in order to do this.

I am having the same problems...i have my enable all cookies selected..i have
deleted all cookie files and restarted my computer...it still will not let me
get onto the site very frustrated...please help

Try deleting the Cookies folder for that user from Windows Explorer. Then
restart. You may have to be logged in as another user with admin privileges
in order to do this.

Or, do you have another program (privacy, security, ad-blocker,etc.) set to
block cookies? Take a look at programs that run in the background and might

i did delete the cookies folder.
the cookie from my work did not load . work web site sent page stating need
cookies enabled.

i did put in internet options/ privicy/ sites , the domain name of the web
site.

i checked the content of the cookies folder, it has a cookie from yahoo.
no cookie from my work.

should i check the web master at work?

i can also use a sniffer to compair the ethernet packets form this problem
pc with a good pc. to see if there are any dropped , unanswered, or reset
connectiions

will work on it more this next weekend
