Cookie question

Joe S.

I use AdAware and SpyBot to clean out stuff that's inserted into my
computer.

I checked AdAware and found page upon page of cookies in my computer. Some
of them I recognize -- for example, I subscribe to several on-line
newspapers, two on-line banks, etc. I found cookies with the name of the
newspapers, the banks, and the like.

Should I delete all the other cookies -- the ones that I do not recognize as
being a site that I use regularly?

Thanks

If you log into a website, it will merely send you a new cookie. If you do
delete your cookies, they will usually be recreated the next time you log into
the site.

For the record, cookies aren't programs. They are (mostly) 256 max character
text files, all of which can be read with any text editor. In some cases, the
name of the cookie is itself the cookie. They can't cause damage to your computer.
