Cookie folder not found

I have Window XP home. I used to have a cookie folder in document and setting.
Lately this folder disappears and could not locate it. What is causing this
problem and what can be done to correct this problem?.

Are you using IE7? - these suggestions in internetexplorer.general ng -
either:

1. "In Windows Explorer - Tools>Folder Options>ViewTab - uncheck Hide
Protected Operating System Files (recommended) " - you will need to reboot;
or

2. "Start > Run > C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Cookies > OK

(The path may be different for you.)

I then added the folder to my Favorites in IE7 for future use."

The second option may be safer.

To open Cookies folder :
1. Click Start > Run
2. Type "%userprofile%\Cookies" (Including quotes)
3. Click OK

If that opens the folder then that means the folder is hidden, do this to
make it visible :

1. Click Start > Run
2. Type the following line :
attrib -s -h "%userprofile%\Cookies"
3. Click OK
