converting to audio

how do i convert a word document into a audio recording to be saved on a CD
to listen to. Im really stuck on whether i have to use the voice recorder or
if there is another easier way.

If I understand correctly... you have a document that contains text. You'd
like to put an audio recording of that text onto a CD. Is that correct?

Any solution I can think of (that uses built-in Word and Windows resources)
would require using the audio recorder in some way. One possibility, for
example, is to use Windows XP's speech engine to read it, while having a
voice recorder turned on. However, the speech engine's voice isn't exactly
wonderful to listen to (at least not to me), and often isn't all that
intelligible. Maybe this is why Books on Tape and Books on CD are so
expensive. ;-)

I would like to know this, too. I'd like to listen to my word docs on my
pda. Is there a way to save the doc with audio format?
