It seems that most of the discussion surrounding this topic relates to moving
backwards from 2k3 to 2k2. I wish to find a way to veiw the old OL2k2 .pst
files in the new OL2k3 version.
I have tried the "file-new-97/2002 compatible" mailbox idea and also through
the "open" feature, to no avail.
I have read somewhere that they are just plain not compatible, but I find it
hard to believe that we would be left in this situation.
If anyone has an idea other than the ones mentioned it would be most
appreciated.

I just talked to a guy I know and he might have helped me, but any ideas is
still appreciated. Just to make sure I am on-track.

In OL 2003, click File>Open>Outlook Data File, browse to the old PST, select
it, and click OK. Outlook 2003 is perfectly capable of reading the older
ANSI-format PSTs. To convert it to a Unicode-format (the new format),
create a new PST with File>New>Outlook Data File>Office Outlook Personal
Fodlers FIle (.pst) and copy the info from the old to the new a folder at a
time.

Outlook 2003 can open Outlook 97-2002 .pst files just fine. If you are
encountering problems, post symptoms.

Thanks for the reply.
I discovered that the e-mail was in an .ost format which I converted to .pst
with the converter from MS. It was the .ost it could not recognize.
I then used the import feature to merge the mail back into the existing
mailbox.
Thanks again,
Crhris
