Converting MM to an AVI file

I am trying to convert the WMV to an AVI file. I read where you have an option. I do not see this option

Save to My Computer.... Other Options.... Use the pull down menu for DV-AVI.

I think it's only in MM2

I am having difficulty in installing 2.

I have windows NT. It appears that it installs, however, after I reboot, It still has the orginal version. I went to the problem sloving site, however, I received an error on the work around

MovieMaker2 only works on XP.
