Converting image files

Hi.
I upgraded my pc from Windows Me to XP Home, and discovered that my images
had been converted into .idx files. Don't know how this happend, and I can't
open them or find a way to convert them into jpeg.
Can anyone help me?

idx files are usually index files for the Microsoft Clip Gallery.
