Converting from Outlook Xpress to Office Outlook

I just hooked up a new computer that came with both Outlook Express and
Outlook Office. I've set all of the options I can see to make Outlook Office
the default but my email still goes into Outlook Express and I have to export
to Outlook Office each time. What did I do wrong or what did I miss in
making the change?
PS I am not very compuetr literate so please keep it simple. Thanks for
your help.
 
Go into the Tools---Options of Outlook Express and on the General Tab, at
the very bottom there should be an option to set your default messaging
program.

Presumably you have set up your email account in Outlook?
If you don't open Outlook Express, it won't collect your emails! QED........
