Converting from an OOOOOOLD version of Works

Howdy,

Wife's parents had an old 486 that they never used. However they have a new
laptop now and wanted to get their old files. Problem is they are from some
ancient version of Works (Pre-1993). Can't get the files to open in Word.

I can sort of open them but there's a bunch of garbage at the top, then some
text, then some more garbage at the bottom. And the text seems like it gets
cut off right in the middle of a sentence so it seems it's not viewing the
whole thing.

Is there any way to convert these files from the old Works formats to
something current so we can at least view the files and print them off if
need be?

Thanks.

Most of the available old Works converters are downloadable from my web
site.
