converting Fat32 to NTFS

I have installed and registered Windows XP On a P3 600mhz
machine with 40gb hard drive formatted as Fat 32 .
Can I change the file system to NTFS and re-install XP on the same drive?

There is no need to reinstall, you convert to NTFS without
reinstalling:
