converting FAT 32 to NTFS

I have installed and registered Windows XP On a P3 600mhz
machine with 40gb hard drive formatted as Fat 32 .
Can I change the file system to NTFS and re-install XP on the same drive?

You can convert it from within XP and not have to re-insall anything.

For instruction click Start, Help and Support and type convert in the search
window. Like Jerry said, you can convert without re-installing.

I would HIGHLY recommend using a 3rd party software like Partition Magic
while doing this......
