I purchased a new dell computer and cannot open my old
access files in it. I copied them from my old computer to
a cd. When I try to open them, access days "invalid
argument". Please help

Don't use 2002 but did you copy them from the CD onto the new PC hard drive?
Access 2002 might need to write to the file to be able to change it to the
new file format and it can't do that to a CD. And did you try to open Access
and then do "File\open" and change the file type to Access 97?? To my
knowledge there is no Access 98 for PC's. But hey I could be wrong. If you
used a MAC before you might have to Save them in Access 97 PC format if that
is possible.

Greetings --

Access 98 was written for use on Apple computers, so files created
by the MacOS very probably cannot be read on the Windows machine.
