Convert a DECLaser 5100 to network printer?

I have this 10-year old DECLaser 5100 printer that I'd like to convert it
into a network printer. I have router that connects 3 PCs. If I find a
ethernet card for the printer and connect it to router, will all my PCs be
able to print to it? Currently it's connect to one printer and I have to
turn it on everytime I need to print to DECLaser from another printer.

Do I need worry about the printer being too old and it may not be
compatible with my router? What ethernet cable do I need to connect?

Thanks for the help,

cpliu

PS, any place to find a cheap ethernet card for DECLaser 5100?

Assuming there's no network card in the printer now, you need to get
one (DEC part number LN09X-NW).

Yes.

No.

What ethernet cable do I need to connect?

The network card accepts twisted-pair and Thin Wire network
connections. Chances are your router uses twisted pair.

I can send you the network card documentation if you want. Your next
step is to locate someone who can sell you one of these network cards.

Paul, thanks for your information and part #. Please send me the
documentation at your convenience. Take "DeleteThis" out of the shown
