Conversion from Access 97 to Access 2002

I converted an Access db from 97 to 2002. Mostly the conversion went
smoothly. However I'm having a problem with some reports. Opening one of
the reports for viewing or even closing a report that is in design mode shuts
down the database AND Access completely. I tried importing the reports
directly from both the old version and from one copy of the converted file to
another; in both cases Access shuts down completely.

The queries underlying these reports seem to work ok when run by themselves.

I'm not aware of any Active X controls on the reports. The references look
to be set correctly.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Dale Matt

Any chance those reports have a designated printer? Just a thought...

That's what I was thinking. I'd also go into design view, change
their default printer to another printer on the system, save the
report. Then change the printer back to the default printer.

Thanks, Jeff and Tony.

Unfortunately there is no default printer set for any of the reports.

I'm thinking I might have to completely rebuild the reports from scratch --
although I suppose I can copy individual controls from the originals.

In trying to rebuild one of the reports in a new, blank report form, I found
that Access crashes as soon as I add the query to new reports recordsource.
When I try to run the query by itself, Access crashes again. (I thought I'd
checked this particular query but I guess not.)

I guess this is no longer a report problem but a query problem.
