control panel/display/tabs missing

This is weird. Using the classic view, clicking on "display" goes
directly to the themes page. No tabs. However, if I switch to the xp
view/Appearance and Themes/all 4 options under "pick a task" work fine
i.e. I can't access the tab categories using the classic view bit can
do so in the xp view.

I looked at my gpedit.msc and everything seems fine. All display
categories are "not configured"

Help! TIA.

Weird, indeed. See if this helps:

Restore the Desktop and Screensaver Tabs (Line 128)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Hi, Kelly: Thanks for your response. I made the first of the 2 changes
but I cannot find locktaskbar in the location you suggest and regedit
doesn't find it at all! Any more clues?

Jay,

Lock Taskbar? Is this in reference to another post? Either way, right
click the Taskbar, Lock the Taskbar.
