I am having sever problems with popup adds when browsing.
Even after adding popup control software, the problem
still exists. These popups are even opening my internet
connection automatically and then adding popups.

Try installing the Google Toolbar with pop-up control
activated.

Don't waste your time with pop-up stoppers, that is only a band-aid approach
to the real problem you have. Since 99% of pop-ups are generated from your
own machine due to software you installed, and agreed to accept the other
*goodies* that came with it.
The most effective way to clean your computer is to download Ad-aware
http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/
and install, before running any scans, click the "Check for updates now" to
get the most recent object reference file...scan and remove what it finds.
although your most effective tool would be to read some of the info, various
forums and newsgroups have to offer about security, spyware.etc.
