contracted a virus; override the computer 'shutdown' message

contracted a virus on a windows xp. after 3-5 minutes on being on internet or
just the main screen i get a 'error' message and a 60 second count down to a
computer shut down. i need a override code for the 'run' option so the
computer will not shut down and then i can download anti-virus.
 
Download "stinger" at McAfee.com , its 794kb is a standalone virsus scanner,
scans for 46 virsus's.
