Contour text to shape

Is there a way in Powerpoint 2002 to have a line of text
follow the contour of a shape (say, an ellipse) directly
and automatically?

I am aware I could try using WordArt and position the
curved text near to the shape, but this always looks so
amateurish and the angles of the curves (if there are
several curved words on a page) never match exactly.

Is there a feature like this on PP2002? I remember there
used to be one many years ago on Corel Presentations 3.0,
so it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Steve,

If you mean text to a path, no. But you could do it in a drawing program and
bring it in.
