Continuing wav file from one slide to next?

Hi,

I have a wav file which contains a sound track to a presentation. At the
moment, it is attached as an effect to the first slide, however, when the
next slide appears it stops. What I want is the wav file to play for a user
defined number of slides without interruption. How do I do this?
