Continual loop of setup and error msg

Ok, so I was trying to fix my xp....long story, but I was
trying to download spyware removal utility and ie stopped
working. So I was trying to fix this and now when I get
to the installing devices screen, I get the 'blue screen
of death' with the stop error of bad_pool_caller.
According to microsoft, my parameters say this error was
caused by the attempt to free a pool that was already
freed. Whatever that means.... so I unplugged eveything
but my mouse, keyboard and monitor, but to no avail.

So after no one replying to my post......I finally fixed
it, I went to

and that worked.....now if only I could fiqure out how to
get IE to start working again...
