Context Menu Handlers for WMP

R

*rain*drops*

I'd like to eliminate some of the right-click context menu handles for WMP
10. The ones I want to eliminate are:
convert audio format
add to playlist
add to sync list
add to burn list

And for all contet menus, I'd like to eliminate
create shortcut

I cannot locate these entries in the registry. Can someone help?

Try here:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations
Subkeys:
.xxx < File extension
audio
Directory.Audio

Not possible.

Good Luck, Ayush.

Uninstall the application that added these...
convert audio format
add to playlist
add to sync list
add to burn list

create shortcut

No way.

Wes, the application that added those is WMP. If I uninstall it, then I
can't use it. Plan B?

I reread your original post and see that now. Duh.

Get ShellExView, it's free.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

Disable...
WMP Add To Playlist Launcher
WMP Burn Audio CD Launcher
WMP Play As Playlist Launcher

I have WMP 9 and that's all that's listed in ShellExView for me for WMP.

Some additional info on ShellExView here...
Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm

With ShellExView it's also real easy to re-enable disabled items.

Wes, I DLéd the ShellExViewer. It's perfect! I killed off the
annoying context menu entries. Very handy.
