I received a virus but have managed to contain it.
However the virus had changed my desktop wallpaper to a
security message with a link to a website wanting money
to remove it.
Does anybody know how to remove this wallpaper.
Also when you open up Internet Explorer my home page is
changed to about:blank

I have also ran all the AdAwre and Spyware programs I can
get my hands on to avail. The virus which I had ran a
program at startup called mstasks3 which took up 99% of
my system resources.

Right click the Desktop, select Properties, Desktop, Customize Desktop, Web tab. Uncheck any Active Desktop Content that you don't want.

Try going to www.pestpatrol.com/is you are able to run a scan to
remove any spyware etc on your machine.

The AV software venders also have an online version of their products
that you can use to run a virus scan of your system
