In the menu bar of Outlook, you have an icon which looks
like an open book; I click on it to display my contacts.
Although I have changed the "Display As" option for each
contact to reflect last name then first name, it will not
organize the menu bar icon in ascending order by
the "Display As" option. I have taken care of all the
options in contacts to reflect last name then first
name. I would like to have the contacts organized by
the "Display As" format (last name then first name)in
ascending order; which means the "Display As" has to
override the "name column" in contacts. Currently
the 'Display As" box is in the center with last name then
first name, but not in ascending order because it
conflicts with the first colum which shows first name and
then last name in ascending order. How can I have
the "Display as" column override the "Name" column and
display in ASCENDING ORDER? I want to click on my icon a
in the menu bar address book and have my contact by order
of the "Display As" format and in ascending order. How
can I program my contacts to file as I wish?

You're talking about the Address Book, which is just a different view of
your Contacts folder, but as you've discovered, it does have a different
setting for the display order. We need to know your Outlook version to
help you further, though, and if you're using Outlook 98 or 2000, we
need to know if you have it configured in Internet Mail Only or
Corporate/Workgroup mode.
