Contacts Nav Button Links to For Follow Up Folder

B

Bob N.

To All:

I have a strange problem with Outlook 2003. When I click on the Contacts
navigation button, The Navigation pane shows the For Follow Up folder under
My Contacts instead of Contacts. Also, the Contacts folder is not listed
under Personal Folders. However, if I click on the Folder List navigation
button I can see Contacts under Personal Folders. If I click on the
Contacts folder in that list, Contacts open in the view pane.

How do I get the Contacts nav button to display my contacts once again? The
OS is WIN XP Pro SP2 and I have applied the latest service pack to Office
2003 Pro.

Thanks for any assistance in advance.

you'll need to delete the xml file that holds the folder information if
restarting outlook doesn't fix it.

Hi, Diane,

Thank you for your response. Can you provide the name of the XML file that
I need to delete? I searched my system and found almost 2,000 file to
choose from.

Hi, Diane,

After searching Slipstick I found a page on managing the Outlook 2003
interface and instructions that allowed me to add Contacts back to the
Contacts nav pane. I then deleted For Follow Up from that pane and all was
back to normal.

Thank you for your assistance. For your reference, the link to Slipstick is
as follows:

Well, to be technically correct, you owe most of the thanks to Sue Mosher
who recently sold slipstick.com to Diane. Sue started it out on the right
path and Diane is maintaining its excellent reputation.

Well, in relative terms, that is less than 2 years ago. How long has
Slipstick been up? I seem to recall seeing it as far back as 1997 or 1998.

So, yes, in relative terms, not that long ago, but a lifetime for you since
you don't have to tend to it on a daily basis and can concentrate on
Outlookcode.com now.
