Contacts mail searching

Hi,
Recently I needed to search my mail contacts for a phone number and couldn't
find a easy way to do this. Would any one know how to search inside contacts
easily.
Sorry if this has been posted before or if some one would be kind enough to
point me to the right group.

Have you tried changing the Contacts folder view to Details, then you can
sort by Phone column.

I just tried searching for a phone number and it was found, though it opens
in a new window.

Is your Contacts folder using the correct Folder template?
Right click a blank area in the folder>customise this folder>select Contacts
from the drop down menu.

Yes thanks for that had done that yesterday and guess what today it works.
Sometimes I wonder if its just me. ;-)
