Contacts list in Email-Gone for good?

Why, why, why, did they remove the contacts pane in Email in Windows Vista? I
thought that's what made it easier to create a new email without having to
open a separate window to go into my Address Book! Bring it back, bring it
back, bring it back! Please?

I doubt it will ever come back.
