Contacts Folder using Message Views

Shawn Barrick

I've got a user who's Contacts folder has somehow been changed to a
message view. All the contact items are there, and look normal when
opened, but the view itself displays them as messages in a mail folder
(from, subject, date received).

It's the main contact folder, so I can't delete or recreate it. I've
tried looking at the views, forms, and options to no avail. Any
suggestions?

Is it possible that they're accessing an Exchange mailbox contacts folder through an IMAP account? That would explain the symptoms.

What view is active in the Contacts folder?

No, it's just a local PST.
What view is active in the Contacts folder?

"Messages". The only views available are predefined ones for a mail
folder.

You might want to run Scanpst.exe on that .pst file to clear up any errors in it.
