Contacts button

Bill

I am using Office Outlook 2003. When I click the "Contacts" button on the
left side of the Outlook window my contacts list does not display in the left
pane but a list of Current View options for the previous window are displayed
(message options if the previous window was Mail, calendar options if the
previous window was Calendar). If I use the Folders button and then click
Contacts folder in the folders view my contacts display as they should. This
worked on my old computer but not on my new one. How can I get the Contacts
button to display my contacts.

What displays in the R pane?
Have you reset the Navigation Pane?

B

Bill

The right pane does not change. If I was viewing mail, the right pane
continues to display the email. Same if i was viewing the calendar.

I'm not sure what I might have done to cause this. I have tried renaming the
Outlook.pst file and creating a new one but it didn't work. I have
un-installed and re-installed MS Office, still not working. The Contacts
button only lists some options for the current view (Messages, Mesaages with
Autopreview, Last Seven Days, etc) in the left pane. It does display
"Contacts" at the top pf the pane. I don't know how to send print screen

Would you please just reset your Navigation Pane as I asked you to from the

Everything else you have done would only make matters worse and most
certainly has corrupted your profile beyond repair, so you may be in for a
lot more repair. Do you back up your data?

Copying the original PST from the old PC to the new one, placing it in a
folder OTHER THAN the folder where Outlook creates PSTs by default. Make
sure it is not read-only. Start Outlook. Click File>Open>Outlook Data
File. Browse to the PST you copied, select it, and click OK. You'll now
have access to all the data it contains and you can either copy that data to
your default folders as you wish, make the added PST the delivery location
so that its folders become your default folders, or simply use it in-place
as it is.
