Contacts and calendar data deleted

I recently upgraded a user to Win 2k and Outlook 2k. He
was using a Palm IIIxe to sync up his Outlook calendar.
After the upgrade he could not sync the data to his Palm.
We downloaded the new Pocket Mirror software and he was
able to sync the calendar and contacts.
Now everything in his contacts and calendar is gone.
Anyone know why?
Also, if I have to restore the data from Veritas software,
can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

You probably sychronised it the wrong way around (the empty to the full one
instead of full to empty).

See your Veritas documentation software on how to set back your backups. (As
a backup admin you should have done this before right?)

i did not sync it, the user did. thanks for the response
though roady....didn't help me at all, but thanks anyway.
as far as the veritas issue, i am the "junior network
technician" here, and am familiar with restoring from
backup tape. i was just hoping to get some info on
restoring data in an outlook calendar and contacts folder
without causing any damage to this users mailbox.

Well, the user then ;-)

For all backups for users I recover to a separate folder so the user can
decide what to keep and what not to keep.Icheck back with them in 2 days to
make sure they've deleted the content they don't want anymore (preventing
duplicates).

Same goes for pst-file. Recover it to a separate profile and then open it in
Outlook by using File-> Open-> Outlook Data File. The user can see in
seconds what he/she is missing (why else would they ask for a recovery?).
Than copy/paste or drag/drop the needed items to the desired location.

In case synchronisation goes wrong the other way and you'll and up with
duplicates of everything you might want to consider the "duplicates remover"
add-ons from Sperry Software;
