Contacts and Address Book are Different Outlook 2007

We just migrated from 2003 to 2007. Open a new message and select "TO", and
the addresses are different from those in the contacts folder. How do I get
the Address Book to be the same as my Contacts folder?

The address book is only a view of your contact records who have a valid electronic address (email and fax) so if you have contacts without this information, they will not show in the Address book view.

Milly, not in this case. I double-checked, and a very valid address that is
used regularly shows up in the contacts, but when I compose and email, it is
not in the list. The email address is in the correct place. We are using a
hosted exchange server, could this have something to do with it?

If the contacts in the Address Book view do not match the Contacts in the
Contacts folder, then your address book is referencing a different Contacts
folder than the one you're examining.

Hi Brian,

Thank you, and that is the point I've been trying to get to. Since are not
the same, how do I get them to be the same? I am unable to find anywhere in
Outlook how to make the TO the same as my Contacts. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

They'll be the same AUTOMATICALLY if you enable as an address book the
contacts folder you want to appear. Right-click that folder, choose
properties, select the Outlook Address Book tab, and check the box labeled
"Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book". Click OK. Stop and restart
Outlook.

You might want to try checking the Folders List view of the Navigation Pane
to see all your folders and find all your contacts folders.
