for the past few days i have had problems contacting this news group .I used
to click on the link in internet explorer and it would take straight here and
i could log in and post or reply no problem but now when i do the same i try
to open a new post or reply and it just keeps re-loading the same page . i
have only managed to contact this group by clicking help in windows mail and
then "questions and answers from communities " is this the only way to use
these news groups now and if not what has changed and why ? thanks for any
help

As you are using Windows Mail, just set up a news account using
msnews.microsoft.com as the news server. It's free and after you download
the available groups, you can then subscribe to this and other groups that
interest you. A direct news account is a much better way to access news
groups than any web interface.

Can you create a new profile or edit an existing profile from Windows Mail
or other newsreaders?

He posted that using the web interface at the Microsoft website. Look at
the headers.

Correct, and if the OP set up a news account and subscribed to group(s) of
interest, he'd have no problem finding the group and would know if there was
any activity in watched threads.

I have the same problem with the "windowshelp.microsoft.com" site but the
site you referenced works just fine. Thank you.

Why don't you set up Windows Mail with Microsoft Communities, or if that's
missing, new account msnews.microsoft.com
That way you can read the entire group and post easily.

Maybe you need to edit the items appearing on the toolbar..?
Not too sure why you are getting that, sounds like it's corrupted somehow.
